A Message From Our CEO

Our customer and financial performance last year was something to behold with new high-water marks in revenue, EBITDA, order intake, and customer support, and the start of this year gives every indication that this year will be no different from last!  In a very challenging environment, you continue to amaze our customers, our business partners, and our owners with what you can accomplish.  Which is why I was so excited to announce at the Q1 Town Hall meeting our new Annual Bonus Program for all Associates who work, on average, at least 20 hours per week and who are currently not eligible for an annual bonus as part of their compensation package.  If you missed the announcement of the new Annual Bonus Program, you can obtain the details by reviewing a replay of the March 22, 2024 Town Hall Meeting which is stored in iSolved under Company Information in the Menu Bar.  This time next year I am looking forward to announcing the payment of the 2024 Annual Bonuses, let’s just make sure we top $30.5M in EBITDA!

With deep respect and appreciation,

Joe McDonagh, Juan Rocha, and the West Region Team recently secured a HUGE, strategic win with UC Davis Medical Center in Sacramento, CA.  UC Davis has been ranked the #1 hospital in Sacramento for 2023-24 and is the only Level I trauma center for emergencies in inland Northern California.  Joe and the Shared Imaging team have been knocking on UC Davis’s door since 2015, but with each opportunity, were kept at arm’s-length by the competition… until now.  With this engagement, Joe and the team developed a winning strategy that resulted in 2 full-time MR agreements and 1 full-time CT agreement – a HUGE win!  Joe and the team focused on UC Davis’s key criteria of new, highly configured technology, expedited production for a tight project timeline, reliable service, and prompt response times.  This could not have been done without great teamwork from Shawn Hall, Larry Holloway, Mike Veloza, Annette Agoun, Samantha DeSilva, Kathy Brandal, Jessica Jacob, and Bethany Nelson. Well done and thank you!

Barry Crain, Jody Bozeman, and the South-Central team finalized a key renewal with Presbyterian Healthcare, which is comprised of 9 hospitals and multiple clinics in the New Mexico market. Presbyterian Healthcare has been a long-standing MR customer for Shared Imaging and recently started Mobile PET/CT service with us as well. With that type of relationship and scope of service, the competition becomes very aggressive to try and break into an account. However, with Barry, Jody, and the team delivering White Glove Customer Service, they were able to secure a renewal of the full-time and Mobile MR business for years to come. Like many large healthcare providers with multiple sites of service, there were several influencers in the process and the team did an excellent job of understanding all unique perspectives & needs, and developed a solution that will allow Shared Imaging to continue providing MR service in the New Mexico market. Congratulations and thank you!

White Glove Moment

Melvin Handy

  • Melvin joined the Shared Imaging Family three and a half years ago as a Transportation Specialist supporting the California Correctional Health Care Services by delivering mobile MRI’s and CT’s.  He came to us with several years of mobile medical industry experience and was able to hit the ground running making a positive impact.
  • Melvin has been a devoted employee that always puts patient care first and will make personal sacrifices so that we can provide care to our customers.
  • Melvin had several unplanned layovers over the last 12 months in his region, which means sleeping in the truck because he ran out of DOT hours while making deliveries and couldn’t make it home. He has consistently shown this level of dedication and work ethic since being employed by SI.
  • Melvin also has innovative ideas! Last year, he suggested we have a safety week to promote a safe culture and as you know we implemented this idea! Melvin is an active and engaged member of our Transportation Safety Committee.

One recent example of Melvin’s dedication and how he creates a WOW for our Internal and External Customers:

On January 13th, Melvin was transporting a unit to a CCHCS site when the chiller began receiving alerts, indicating an emergency requiring immediate maintenance. Driving through a severe storm and having stayed overnight previously, Melvin diverted the unit to our yard for service, despite it being out of the way. Due to the distance and storm, he had to stay overnight in the truck in our yard, enduring pouring rain into the weekend. With our staff being short-handed and no one available to deliver the unit after repair, Melvin volunteered to wait for the repair to be completed and deliver the unit on an unplanned weekend.

When a unit is down, it impacts our customers, reputation, patients, and associates’ work schedule. Melvin’s actions not only saved us from a cancellation fee but, more importantly, ensured patient care the following business day.

Melvin and the other CCHCS drivers may not interact with external customers directly, but their impact on our business is immeasurable!!!

        Supervision of Non-Patients

        • Shared Imaging team members are not to watch or supervise anyone that may arrive with a patient that needs a supervisor, such as a child or elder care situation.
        • For example, if a patient arrives with a child who cannot be left alone in the facility, the exam will need to be rescheduled until they can find childcare.

        Verbally Abusive Patients

        • Policy 3-312 states “A technologist may refuse to perform a diagnostic imaging procedure during which a patient is physically threatening or verbally abusive. Before terminating a procedure, the technologist will contact the customer for assistance regarding the situation. In the event of such an occurrence, the technologist informs their immediate manager/supervisor, who will then notify the customer per customer policy.”

The black dress is absolutely stunning and contrasts with the red perfectly. As a symbol of joy, celebration, vitality, success and good fortune, red is the luckiest color in the groom’s culture. Congratulations to the beautiful couple.

        Wellness. SOLVED.

National Public Health Week is celebrated in April! Public health is more than just health care. It’s the steps we take to make sure our neighborhoods and environment are free from pollution. It’s making sure our food and water are safe to eat and drink. It’s also the relationships we foster in our communities. We’re all interconnected. When we all come together to support public health, all of us — individuals, families, communities, and the public health field — can achieve the goals of public health.

How can we make the world we live in a healthier place?

        • Plant trees – Planting trees helps reduce pollution! If you don’t have a yard to plant in, contact your local agencies to find out how you can help plant any trees locally.
        • Get to know your neighbors – this will continue to foster relationships and feel connected to those around you. Social gatherings, small conversations, and being incorporated into your neighborhood is great for overall health.
        • Advocate for walking paths or spaces in nature to get outside!
